This barn was built by Asa J. Murray sometime in 1926 or before then.  The original barn was 40′ x 50′, then had a 20′ addition onto the north gable end.  The sidewalls are 17′ to the eaves and the roof pitch is 9/12.  The roof has always been maintained in excellent shape.  The original barn was framed with Douglas fir, but the addition was framed with native hardwoods.  This barn was built near the end of the era of timber frame barns.

This barn must be removed by November 2024 to make room for a new farm building.  The current owner will keep the Oak Lawn Farm sign painted on the siding.
