Historic Charm Barn 30’x64’, circa early 1840’s
Ohio Valley Barn Salvage is pleased to offer for sale the Historic Charm barn frame , measuring 30’x64’, circa early 1840’s. This barn was located in the center of town , Charm Ohio, in Holmes county. This rare frame looks to be almost sawn timbers but is actually a hand hewn white oak frame. Each hewn timber was blocked planed almost smooth by the master barn builders crew. You can see the 4” block plane marks in the timbers. The outside uprights are 14” wide. You have scribe rule Roman numerals indicating where each timber was to be located in the barn. This a barn has the original 2 sided pole rafters come with this frame. The bay layout is 17’-17’-16’-14’. You have very nice double stacked interior bent sections. This frame was dismantled in September of 2024 and currently in covered dry storage in our yard located in Butler, Ohio.
